Design Meets Fashion: Incorporating Pink

Something that I love about warm coastal cities like Miami and Los Angeles is their ability to seamlessly incorporate tropical colors into their everyday. Part of this is because we naturally think of tropical colors when we think of hot weather, but part of it is also about a style and culture that is playful, bold, and not scared of taking risks. Before I saw this table, I would have never thought of painting the legs of furniture a different color, and I especially wouldn’t have thought of using pink. But the more I look at it, the more I love the use of this very bright and exotic color, especially as it’s balanced with natural wood and stark black. The same goes for local LA blogger Aw-Meeh’s choice of a pink knit dress; I would have never thought to pair it with so many different pieces, but like the table it works.

So going forward I’m going to take more color risks and be a bit more playful, and see where it takes me.
