I spent last weekend in the City by the Bay, where I lived for 15 years. The weather was gorgeous- perfect for a day in the park and visiting all the old haunts… and by haunts, of course I mean design shops! No matter what neighborhood you are wandering around, there is no shortage of local art, design, and antique shops. Here are a few of my favorites:
The first feeling when walking through the doors of Peace Industry is that you want to move in. Their hand-made felt rugs designed by Melina Raissnia are made from 100% lamb’s wool and natural dyes. They are thick, gorgeous, earth-friendly, chemical-free, and fair trade. Fabulous! One day..
Paxton Gate is one of the most wonderful, unique shops I have ever seen. From plants and taxidermy, to tea and lighting fixtures, there’s something cool for everyone- including the little ones:
The floor of Aldea is set up with vignettes of spaces in the home to completely inspire the designer in you. The staff constantly redesign the “rooms” to keep the store fresh and inviting with modern, accessible items for the home. Love it!
Sue Fisher King is known for featuring beautiful, unique home furnishings and accessories. I am currently drooling over the following:
