Founded on the philosophy that high-end interior design should be accessible to those without the budgets or time for the traditional design process, Designers Call is an innovative design firm created by Lara Fishman, Owner and Principal Designer of Storm Interiors.

Designers Call was conceived after a number of Lara's friends, many of them parents and busy working professionals, expressed the need to have their homes designed by a professional, but simply couldn't afford the time or cost required. Often, they just needed advice on a small projects or purchases, which would not justify the cost of hiring a traditional interior designer.

By combining Storm Interiors' unique aesthetic with practical knowledge of design and construction, preferred rates with vendors, and a fully retrofitted DesignWagen, Lara realized she could bring fast, affordable decorating services and design products straight to her clients' homes. And as a "mediated shopping" service, Designers Call could provide expert assistance in wading through the myriad product and finish choices available in the market, saving clients valuable time.

In addition to offering eco-friendly design solutions, Designers Call provides expert, step-by-step guidance that empowers clients to express their own sense of style. The first of its kind, this unique approach brings beautiful, effective results to projects of any size. Lara Fishman has worked in the Interior Design industry for 16 years and has run Storm Interiors with much success for 9 years.

Additionally, designers that are "on call" for DC have substantial experience and education in the interior design industry.  Many DC design managers have worked or are currently working for Storm Interiors.  Other DC designer managers are independent but choose to be a part of Designers Call in order to further their career with an elite, hand-picked group of professionals.  All managers understand and appreciate our aesthetic, approach and professionalism in pursuit of all projects and have been trained to always incorporate economic and efficient solutions.  All projects are consistently monitored by Storm Interiors.

about Lara Fishman

Lara is the driving force behind Designers Call. Raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Lara was influenced by her mother's passion for interior design, antiques, fine art, fashion and her talent for merging disparate styles, colors and patterns into beautiful cohesive living environments.

After studying French Literature at Tulane University and living in France, Lara cultivated a deep interest in European design traditions. In 1998, she completed a four-year course of study at UCLAs prestigious School of Interior and Environmental Design, working concurrently as a furniture designer to expand her knowledge of the custom-design process.

In 1998, Lara joined Kelly Wearstler Interior Design (KWID) as a senior designer and design team supervisor for residential and commercial projects such as The Viceroy and Maison 140, before founding her full-service interior design firm, Storm Interiors, in 2000.  In 2008, Lara launched Designers Call, a specialized decorating service that addresses the growing need of consumers seeking professional design services but lacking the large budget or time required by the traditional design process.  Lara is an allied member of ASID.
