Lara Fishman is the driving force behind Designers Call, a new company that provides high-end interior design house calls nationally. Raised in Birmingham, AL she is the quintessential Southern Belle transplanted Westward. Always influenced by her mother's passion for interior design, antiques, fine art, fashion and her talent for merging disparate styles, colors and patterns into beautiful cohesive living environments, Lara has found her calling in interior design. She studied French Literature at Tulane University and lived in France, cultivating a deep interest in European design traditions.
In 1994, she enrolled at prestigious School of Interior and Environmental Design and worked concurrently as a furniture designer, expanding her knowledge of the custom-design process. In 1998, She joined Kelly Wearstler Interior Design (KWID) as a Senior Designer and design team Supervisor for residential and commercial projects until launching her full-service interior design firm - Storm Interiors - in 2000.
In addition to luxury residential projects, Lara continues to design high-end boutique hotels. She is currently designing the interiors for the first-ever boutique hotel in Medellin, Colombia. Known as The Charlee, the boutique hotel is slated to open in 2010. Teamed with internationally acclaimed architect Camilo Restrepo, The Charlee is sure to grab the international spotlight. In 2008, Lara launched Designers Call as a way of meeting the changing needs of the market place and making interior design more accessible to more people.
The company is unique its versatility and offerings, having distilled the sometimes complicated design process into easy-to-understand packages. With Designers Call now available nationally, Lara hopes to reach a broad audience and revolutionize the way the design industry works. Lara is an allied member of ASID. |
